Please explain the circumstances surrounding your
complaint below. Please describe any oral or written
misrepresentations.
Alcor Life Extension offers a medical service whereby deceased and
frozen individuals are returned to life.
At issue here is that the Alcor service is a deceptive practice and
thus fraudulent, in that they are promising after death and freezing they can at some future date revive, repair, and
restore a living human being. This
is essentially what cryonics claims to achieve.
Alcor's website indicates (02/14/03): "Cryonics, simply
stated, is the rapid cooling of a person’s body, usually in
liquid nitrogen, in order to preserve the tissue, cellular and
molecular structure in the hopes that future advancements
in science and technology will be developed to allow Alcor
the scientific means to repair the ravages of diseases like
cancer, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, the effects of aging;
thereby potentially restoring the individual back to good health."
The objective is to have them investigated and substantiate
this claim, or discontinue operations.
.
This statement is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge.
